Indie Wed 2013!

I am so humbled to have been a part of my first Chicago Indie Wed Event. I met many wonderful brides and couples, whom I enjoyed explaining my product to. It was all about having a good time, and letting the brides feel at ease and the freedom to try on any piece that sparked their interests!
I am so appreciative, and find it very much rewarding, to know how much brides love my work!
Hey, I even had a couple orders processed during the event,(yay!) Oh what a satisfying day, couldn't have asked the day to go any better. Plus we had snow! I for one love the snow, probably because I love the shades of white and ivory so much. ;)
It was definitely  worth attending. I am soo... looking forward to possibly being a part of this Summers Indie Wed Event taking place at the wonderful Zhou B Art Center.
I did get a chance to walk around quickly to get acquainted with a few interesting vendors as well. Met a couple of photographers that were so nice to send me some wonderful pictures!
I am in awe and grateful they took the time to send me these beautiful photos of my girls and my booth...  After organizing the pictures, which was a bit of a process, let me tell you... I had this desire to make sure it all flowed very nicely, while keeping the photographers separate from each other, so that you can develop an understanding of how different each photographer is. There own dynamic perspectives will play into view.

The first Photos were taken by a very sweet newly engaged couple Tom and Laura.  They have a way of making you feel at ease, and happy to be photographed. They are so fun!
They present this sense of mystery to their photograph's and a sense of realism.
How they mesh the two simply amazes me...
I love this mysterious take of my veils reflecting in a very pretty mirror-
Rented from Janelle at www.refindjoy.com

Jill is crazy adorable in this photo! She looks so ethereal! Doesn't she?
My sister and I had so much fun!
She was the perfect model to wear this dress and veil.
My little bohemian sister. ;)
Our next photographer is Mark Federigi, whom has a gentlemen's approach. I believe he has an eye for capturing precious vulnerable moments, that can really surprise you with emotional depth to them.
I love the depth, angles, and lighting of these. So beautiful...
Simply stunning.
Last but definitely not least.
Amanda Megan Miller
Amanda has a way of portraying a fresh look. The way she captures the lighting is brilliant!
All girls love lighting, the more the better. Right!
Of course if done the right way, and boy oh boy she is right on the mark.
Jill looks like an angel, so flawless.
I love that she captured this action shot of the girls playing dress up.
Exactly what I wanted.  It was all about having fun!
I hope you enjoyed looking through these amazing photos as much as I did.
Thank you Indie Wed for having me!
Best wishes,
Janessa

P.S.
Here are a few more super cute, but not nearly a good as the professionals
pictures taken with my iphone.
xoxo
One happy and certainly adorable bride, wearing the hairpiece she plans to wear on her wedding day. :)

Bridal Brunch "Fabric to Fit"

So! ...The Bridal Brunch "Fabric to Fit" Event went spectacular! I found myself wrapped up and loving  the swarm of people gathering around with excitement in their eyes, with interest in learning more about  the work that goes into designing a bridal gown. Having the event held at Supreme Novelty  was a perfect FIT!  A wonderful background for photography and runway shots.  This video shot by Joseph Crawford with www.looseygooseyart.com showed the spirit of the day beautifully...
Enjoy!

Happy New Year!

Everyone looking forward to the new year 2013?! I hope everyone had a wonderful 2012 & an exciting New Years Eve! 2012 for me was full of many opportunities, and tons of hard work, which  I am soo looking forward to seeing the pay off this year... I am Oh So grateful for what has come, and looking forward to what is to come... One of the opportunities dates back to the beginning of the year, around this time! I was asked to be apart of a Stylized Shoot Contest for Indie Wed! I was so inspired by the theme of it "French tea Party" and whipped up this beauty within a day's notice. What do you think?!

Having done a pretty good job and impressing a local designer/wedding boutique owner-Kpoene, she asked me to provide pieces to her new space that opened around this time last year, and has been going well since. Speaking of Indie Wed, I will be participating at the Chicago Feb. 2nd Event for the first time! Yay!

A Chicago 1920's stylized shoot

I am incredibly happy to finally be able to show off our collaboration of a soft 1920's stylized shoot. Back in July during a very hot and humid day we pulled together a flawless shoot. We have been awaiting patiently for the right time to be featured, and what a perfect time to be. The lovely BeUWeddings team has featured us this month! Yay!!! Providing you with some lovely insight for an intimate vintage Summer Wedding plan. Living a couple blocks away from the perfect setting, the Prairie District neighborhood brings you back to a time of iron lamp posts, cobblestone lined roads, and iron gates that surround a quaint park ". In a one block radius we have two Museums "The Clark House" Museum, that survived the Chicago Fire, and "The Glessner House".  Just down the road we have  "The Keith House"  for the perfect backdrop, which is a great space to host  an intimate event.
Our idea was to create an atmosphere with a light approach. An Intimate Ceremony with delicate detail. A lot of our inspiration came from details of the Art Deco, Art Nouveau time periods, The movie "The Great Gatsby" with Robert Redford and Mia Farrow had a playful, light, and airy approach to that time, which inspired us in many ways. Pistil and Vine's floral arrangements created a soft, and lovely surrounding. Let me just say flower is really power... and by creating a powder room atmosphere where the Bride and her best gal get ready, brings in the air of good old playful humor and relaxation for her big day.

The Keith House had amazing backbone. A rich built in wooden bar was the perfect back drop for our sweets table. I am so in love with what Luscious Layers bakery created from an architectural photo given to them for inspiration. What a STUNNING cake...

Janelle and Kristine set a breathtaking table for two. I am love with the richness of the dark wood and angles of the table, all of the details of the pasty, silverware, china, and amber creates a lush and passionate table for two.

Bridal Guide Article with Be U Weddings!

It has been a very busy couple of months.... Let me tell you... and loving every minute of it... Let me fill you in on some of things that has taken place and is to take place soon! First off, I am very excited and pleased to be a part of this spectacular online Birdal guide with www.BeUWeddings.com.

I am love with this online bridal magazine for the Chicago bride. Violet Bells is located on pages 64-65. A great read for helping you with choosing a headpiece or veil. Come check it out! There are not too many articles or knowledge of picking out the finishing touches, which in my opinion plays a very, very important role. Not only does everyone cry when you have found the dress, but over the years I have noticed it often resides after the bride has put on  a veil or headpiece. This is usually when everyone is in the awww moment and tears start to roll down.  I feel this is when your beautiful gown is turned into a striking image of a glowing bride in a beautiful white/ivory or if you are a trend setter like Jessica Biel (which by the way was extremely stunning!) a pink gown and veil/headpiece...

Everything about this wedding was to die for... I love that she chose a blush pink dress, and looks like her veil is made in white. What makes it is even more stunning is that the veil picks up the pink hue of the dress. What a beautiful idea... What a romantic ceremony...
